I've realised that I've hit a point in my writing, as a Hispanic person,  I've glossed over my own background and opted to write of another culture - 'European' culture.

This is nothing new. If the most popular media is dictated by white men, it will imbue you with their direction. If the scant reading material is all written by those of a culture foreign to you, you will write stories of people whose names begin with Thomas and Stacy.

But  what tends to be unspoken is the propensity of writing subjects foreign to you is not as much its exoticness, but it being something that doesn't appear mundane.
